Today, the Army Run was held in Ottawa which hosted 18,000 runners doing a 5 Km race and a 1/2 marathon in order to raise awareness of the military, promote fitness, and raise funds. National Peacekeepers’ Day was observed today in Ottawa at the Reconciliation Monument in Ottawa. In attendance were military peacekeepers as well as representation from the RCMP and other police forces who have had members serve in a UN Peacekeeping function.
