Remembrance Day 2016

These are my favourite pictures this year from the National Remembrance Day Ceremony in Ottawa. The day started out cool (3 degrees celsius) and bright but about 0930, the clouds started to roll in and the wind was high, which only added to the chill. After the ceremony was completed, about 1200 hours, the sun came out again. However, there have been worse days and today turned out quite good, even if cloudy. There was some excitement as a piece of 4×8 plywood fell of a building and into the crowd of on-lookers but I don’t believe anyone was hurt.

My favourite picture is that with Mr. David Boese and his service dog, Sam. Sam was getting a little fidgety being in ranks and getting cold so Mr. Boese, in rank, knelt to provide comfort to Sam.
