On Friday evening, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum hosted the HAPPY HEARTS fundraiser for the Childrens’ Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). What is significant about this event is not that it was a fundraiser, but that it was the brainchild and organized by eight year old Noémie Pound. That’s right – EIGHT years old! What were you doing when you were eight?
The fundraiser consisted of a silent auction and a children’s fashion show within the surroundings of the Museum. She went out and found businesses to donate items for the auction, gathered sponsors to donate clothing for the fashion show, and procured the venue, the hosts, and all the other aspects required to get the show going.
